   Awards are judged on placings in 
shows, previous TMHA awards awarded that year, 
and by versatility and temperament; conformation
and gaits are also considered.

Shows: Our shows include dressage, jumping, classic pleasure, english
pleasure, park, hunter pleasure, carriage driving, classic pleasure
driving, pleasure driving, park harness, roadster-to-bike, roadster under
saddle, equitation, western pleasure, barrels, trail, halter,

       FOR A TMHA SHOW.***
Show Rules:         (1) Tongue tying will be permitted in all divisions.
                    (2) Propper attire must be worn in the class. (No
                        martingales; proper head-gear, tack, etc...)
                    (3) Walk trot riders may not cross enter with
                        any class requiring a canter or lope.
                    (4) Barn curtains MUST be displayed at the end of
                        your stabling aisle unless approved otherwise
                        by show committee. They must be flame retardant.
                    (5) Full, 1/2 & Reg. 1/4 Morgans permitted.
                    (6) Use ring for working horses only at specified
                        times.
                    (7) Horses MUST be properly suited for the class
                        in which they are competing. Cross entering
                        rules will be listed on show page.
                    (8) Ginger salve will NOT be permitted. Discovery
                        of posession of ginger-salve will result in
                        conphiscation and/or disqualification from
                        the show.
                    (9) Horse boots may not be worn by any horse except
                        those in roadster/dressage/jumping/reining classes.
                    (10)Stalls must be cleaned daily, or you will be 
                        told to leave the grounds withing the day,
                        and reported for neglect.
                    (11)Negative Coggins test required, signed by vet.

Serenity Intrigue of Trillium Morgans

The Morgan breed began in the late 1700s (suggested yr is 1793)
as a  payment to a man named Justin Morgan for a debt. A
rather scraggly horse was taken home with his dam, and both were
left in the field for awhile. He sold the mare, but was
unable to sell the colt. Finally, he decided to clean it up 
and see what that stallion could do. He named the horse "Figure".
Slowly, Justin Morgan found out that his horse could haul
heavy loads quickly, and could move at great speeds. (While
the famous TB racehorse, Man O' War's stride was 25-28' long 
in full stride, the longest recorded Morgan stride was 22' at 
takeoff! Ethan Allen, 50 beat racehorses of many breeds and became
one of the most influential sires of all time). He 
entered his newfound stallion in hauling, racing, and
jumping contests everywhere, and found him never to lose!
People were drawn to him, as he was fancy, yet hardy and strong.
The stallion was of mixed and unknown breeding, though
it has come more clear today. It is now believed there is Arabian,
Canadian Sport Horse, Andalusian, and Welsh blood in the Morgan.

And for temperment, they cannot be beat. Morgans are
the best! They are suitable for riders of all ages:
kids, adults; inexperienced, very experienced! While
my horse, LJF Springstein is spunky and energetic in
the showring, he is also the perfect mount for my 4 y.o
cousin, who has been riding him since age 3.

Today, Morgan horses stand approximately 14.2-15.3hh, and can 
be chestnut, liver chestnut, black, brown, bay, palomino,
cremello, dun, buckskin, and in the U.S., also grey (although only 
19 greys were ever registered since the "white" rule was dismissed). 
They have rounded rumps which should be level with their
well-defined withers; Well crested, muscular necks, which are
held more straight-up from the shoulder than most breeds;
A beautiful straight or slightly dished, tapering head is characteristic.
They have a clean cut throatlach; short, strong, flat legs 
with round, strong hooves. Tails are high-set and high-held;
movement is animated and clear. The walk should be flat footed
and all gaits should be even and straight, with no signs
of paddling, winging or forging.



Morgans are the most versatile horse in the world! They can 
do anything from saddleseat (3 types), roadster, western, trail
hunter pleasure, showjumping, hunter-jumping, dressage, eventing,
endurance, fine harness, roadster-to-bike, carriage
driving, and the list goes on -- and, they do it EXTREMELY
well! Morgans are suitable for riders with no prior experience,
little experience, or years of experience! They are very
tolerent, well-tempered animals, with lots of spirit. They
cannot be beat as showhorses, pleasure horses, or just
best friend horses!
